October is breast cancer awareness month. Our group has participated in The Girls Love Mail program before and this seems like the perfect month to reach out to our sisters afflicted by this disease. This program sends cards and letters to women recently diagnosed . Go on Girlslovemail.com to learn all about it. The cards can be whatever you feel like making but each card needs to have a hand written message inside. The message needs to be at least four or five sentences. Please go on the website for ideas, suggestions and guidelines of what to say. We ask that you write out your messages ahead of time so when your cards are finished on Friday you can hand them in and they can be mailed out in a batch to the organization. You don’t need envelopes . Cards can be no bigger than A7 size. Let’s make it a fun event. Wear pink! Pink snacks will be provided! Please bring your own supplies including whatever stamps you might want to use. There will be stamps to share as well. See you the 25th at 3:30! Janet
We do have some white cardstock in our supply box. I will also bring some die cuts of pink butterflies and some other items you can use on your cards. Please bring a tape runner, glue, paper trimmer, scissors, and embellishments.
You can view past Girls Love Mail projects on this blog.
$1 will be collected.
I look forward to many of you joining us for this all important workshop to benefit other women around the country. You can also view a letter to us earlier in the year from the organization, thanking us for our contributions.
