OCTOBER 12 WORKSHOP

Patricia Brown

is our next presenter for October 12th. This will be at 1PM. Her info, for what you need to bring, is as follows:

Double embossing requires cardboard mats, silicone mats and a Big Kick, cuttlebug, etc. 

Bring multipurpose platform, cutting plates, and any dies you may wish to try. 

If you want to make a mat, bring cardboard similar to cardboard in the back of DSP paper, or similar.

You will need tombow glue, cardstock, embossing folders and dies.  I will bring some as well.

I [Pat] will have a variety of samples to show you as well.

If you have the new Big Shot embossing mats, bring them as you can use them instead of the cardboard mats.

No fee for this workshop. Our club is looking forward to this double embossing technique.

 

Upcoming Workshops

The recreation department is using our room for another event and we will not have our workshop on September 28th. Our next workshop is October 12th.

I attended a meeting of the club volunteers. We are not allowed to start our workshops until it is the advertised time to begin. So: 1pm or 330pm. Do not start early, please.

There are only two or three people interested in making cards the Friday after thanksgiving and the Friday after Christmas. We will meet, and anyone can join us, however there will not be a program. We will just work together on our own projects.

I hope things cool off by our October meeting. Looking forward to seeing our returning snowbirds.

September 14 workshop at 1pm

There will only be one workshop in September on the 14th, at 1PM. The room is being used for another event later in the month. I would like to thank Geri for her tile presentation. A good time was enjoyed by a good summer turnout. Shirley is presenting the card below for free.

Supplies needed are:  

 liquid adhesive

 Rhinestones or sequins

 Pop-ups  and

 Regular supply kit

 

August 24 workshop at 3:30

Thank you Jean for your presentation. Summer is a challenge for workshops with so many residents traveling.

Our next workshop is by Geri. She will show us how to print from stamps to tiles. Below is what Geri sent me:

I have tiles, ink, cork, Stazon ink, and some large stamps.
They well need double sided tape or a liquid glue. If they have a stamp they would like to use they can bring it.
Water soluble inks or paints cannot be used if you intend to use the tiles as coasters.

The cost is seventy-five cents for a tile.

 

AUGUST 10, 1PM, WORKSHOP

Our presenter is Jean. She asks to bring a craft mat for the table, mini mister or small container for water, watercolor paints , paint brush, and a heat tool.  There is no charge for the project. You will be making lovely flowers that can be used on your cards.

JULY WORKSHOPS

Thank you Kathy for taking over the last minute presenter change, and to have such a lovely idea.

If you are wondering what the orange square is for, it is not a download mistake. This is for inspiration. Kathy is in charge of our July workshops. The orange is inspiration for the fall. Everyone come to both meetings with their own supplies of cardstock, punches, stamps, dies, etc. that are: Autumn, Halloween, and Thanksgiving themes. We all know how busy we get, in The Villages, and then we scramble to make last minute seasonal cards. This will give us a jump on the season. We ask that we all share supplies and ideas. There is no fee for the month.

Remember that the second Friday is at 1PM and the fourth Friday is at 3:30PM.

 

June 22 workshop at 3:30

Kathy will be presenting birthday and get well cards. Just bring your supply kit. Kathy will supply all that is needed. There will be a charge of $1 per card. Have Fun Woo Woo !
